My Lipstick Collection

I say Collection... its not that big. I am a student (great excuse for everything) and to be honest I do not wear lippy everyday to warrant having much more! But I love some, I kinda like some and a few I would never re-purchase! So I thought that some of you would be interested in my opinions and lipstick is fun and what I always love to nose through in my friends make-up bags. Have a nose...

This is how I store my lipstick and this box fits in a little wicker basket with other random glosses on my shelves with the rest of my make- up 'collection'. I helps me to see them all instead of them all mixed up in the basket together and some being hidden and forgotten. Random little boxes are great!

As you can see and will see is I do not have any daring colours, I stick to my natural pinks, corals and a bright red or purple.

Here is the reds and corals, from left to right: Rimmel lasting finish by Kate Rosseto 107, Revlon Colour burst lip butter Candy Apple 035, Max Factor Pink Brandy 825, MAC Frost Costa Chic, Barry M it is either 151 or 242.
I Cannot really fault any of these, the Costa Chic from MAC clings to any dry patches because it is such a think creamy formula, so really exfoliate and use a lip balm before applying. The staying power of all of them is pretty great too, especially with a lip stain or liner underneath.

Here is the Nudes, Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Rose petal, Topshop Nevada, Revlon Lip butter Peach Parfait 025, MAC Lustre in Patisserie.

Now this is where we get negative, Natural collection is a lovely creamy formula but like the MAC Costa Chic it clings and really needs blending in to look good on the lips. Also it melts very easy in your bag... oops. Topshop Nevada... never again, its so drying and smells horrible, worn once and hated it. The Revlon Lip Butters are amazing, love the feel of them, smell nice and so easy to wear and apply. But this Peach Parfait has too much
shimmer and I have very small lips, I feel like it would look great on someone with more lips? or lip.. surface.. area..

Finally, here is the Pinks/ Purples, MAC Frost in Angel, Revlon Super lustrous lipstick Matte in Pink Pout 002, Loreal Caresse in Lovely Rose 03, Revlon Lip butter in Lollipop 075.

Again with these I cannot fault, MAC Angel replaced my Creme Cup that was run over by a bus along with my bag in London... a complete different story... BUT, I think I actually like this Angel more, the formula is lighter and easy to work with and is a greattt everyday colour LOVE. I love the tone of the Revlon Matte lipstick but I do not wear it often as I don't like the feel of matte lipsticks to wear all day. Loreal Caresse are great for if you are in a rush and wan to quickly add a pop of colour and sheen to your lips, creamy and moisturising.

I've swatched the lippies on my arm and taken photos in artificial and natural light so you can see the colours and get an idea of their finishes. I tried this on my lips before but applying and removing numerous lippys takes its toll and makes your lips sore and stained!

On the right and bottom in these photos is the dark Rimmel and then they are in the same order as they are photographed above.

With the nudes from the bottom up is in order to the photos above.

and again from the bottom up is in order for the pinks/ purples.

Removing these from my arm was tough enough! The Rimmel and Barry M has some good staying power I tell you.

Out of them all, all my MAC's and the Max Factor are my most worn out of them all. I hope this post was helpful, interesting or just something to read while you drink your cuppa browsing random Blogs. Thankyou for reading, please let me know if you found this interesting? or any suggestions? I would love to know and I am keen to move into higher end brands... maybe a bit of YSL.

Again Thanks guys and hope your having a lovely day! :)

NOTD Rimmel: Orange your life!

My favorite summer bright nail! We've had some sunshine so I felt the need to bring back some bright. Fight the cold chill in the air.

Bright colours make me happy :)

NOTD Topshop & Barry M: PLAY PINK

Topshop play for keeps! Back to loving this again, with a twist. Barry M Pink Iridescent. Cute compared to the brights I've had on for the so called 'summer'

England's summer has been pants, so included loads of brights to brighten up the days :)

DIY: Exfoliate

Quick post about a quick tip for exfoliating!
I was reading a post on Lauren Conrad's website, which is originally about how to remove fake tan gone wrong. "
Baking soda is a fantastic exfoliate. It’s nonabrasive and leaves your skin feeling incredibly smooth. (Trust me, try using it on your face mixed with a few drops of water instead of lemon)" Mix the two into a kind of paste, but you will not need much.

I have an issue with dryness/ flakiness especially around my nose like a lot of people, where your foundation sticks and goes patchy -_- Hate that. So when I had this issue and had no face scrub, I put the tip to the test andddd the results were incredible! Better than any scrub I have ever used (which I'll admit isn't any high end products). But after using this cheap solution I don't think I'll fork out the monies for anything too expensive.
My skin is incredibly smooth, feels refreshed and clear of any dryness. I always follow with a final cleanse of my skin and then a good moisturiser.

Seriously try it out, I do it once a week. But caution... of course avoid contact with your eyes...

Hope this tip is helpful because I LOVE it, pass it on.

Thankyou for reading :)

NOTD Barry M: SHOCKING PINK

Such a fun, bright, girly colour! (anymore adjectives?) Barry M's Shocking Pink 272. I felt like a colour that would catch the eye and make an impact, but suitable for work, boo, bright orange would be more fun!
But I do love this colour, always love Barry M's colour range, they are so fun. The formula isn't too bad either, this is only one coat and with a top coat will last a while. Right now I have gel on my nails which makes the colour last even longer. Bonus!
Another NOTD -_- But I really enjoy reading them for some reason.

NOTD Rimmel: CORAL ROMANCE

I fancied a change from my pretty pastels and whacked out an old fave of mine! A bright pinky, red to make more of an impact. I really love this Rimmel Professional Finish nail varnish, mostly due to the Maxi brush. It has a wider brush that makes applying incredibly easy.
It does say 'mistake free application' but as you can see I have made a slight mess (but this will come off easy in the shower, rather then fiddle around with a cue tip)
